Islam
is a religion that is blessed by Allah swt and it is called rahmatan lil
' alamin, meaning that Islam is a religion that
brings grace and well-being for all throughout the
universe.
The
following is the interpretation of rahmatan lil
' alamin found in the Quran Sura Al-Anbiya ' verse 107,
as interpreted in Sunnah by Ibn Katheer in the
book:
“We sent thee not save as a mercy for the
peoples." (QS Al Anbiya ': 107)
Islam
teaches us to reconcile, and tolerate to all people from different tribes,
races and religions. Islam forbids us to be arbitrary against fellow beings.
In
Sura Ibrahim it is explained in the following way:
“ Hast thou not seen those
who gave the grace of Allah in exchange for thanklessness and led their people
down to the Abode of Loss, (Even to) hell? They are exposed thereto. A hapless
end!”
(QS. Ibrahim:28-29)
Islam has
been revealed by Allah swt with Quranic guidance. The Qur'an is used as a guide
for Muslims. As God has given us, we should read the Qur'an and also practice
it in daily existence. Al-Quran is a form of the form of love of Allah swt to
his servant, Al-Quran is like a love letter that Allah has given to Muslims.
Al-Quran has 114 letters and 30 Juz.
The
Qur'an descends through two periods named the Mecca period and the second
period of Medina. Thus in the Qur'an there are several letters divided
according to the descent in Mecca and in Medina.
Among the
words of Allah swt:
“This
Qur’an guideth unto that which is straightest, and giveth tidings unto the
believers who do good works that theirs will be a great reward” (QS. Al Isra : 9)
In
Islam, we are also ordered to perform the mandatory five-time prayer,
consisting of the Fajr, Zhur, Asr, Magrib and Isha. Under no circumstances
should Muslims be enjoined to perform prayers. Even if the people do a world
disobedience should be for obligatory prayers. There is no reason not to
perform the obligatory prayers.
Therefore, those who
abandon prayers include the mujrims who are entitled to go to hell saqor. Allah
Ta'ala says:
“The guilty are in error and madness.
On the day when they are dragged
into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell.” (QS. Al Qomar [54] : 47-48)
Not
only obligatory prayers, in Islam there are also sunna prayers, one of which
tahajud prayers that should be held at night and first have to sleep and wake
up at night.
Every
year Islam is obliged to observe fasting for a whole month where the month is
called Ramadan. Ummah required to fast in order to get a lot of teaching after
we fasted a full month. There is a proposition that explains about worship in
the month of Ramadan, which is fasting:
